Summer Sailstice June 21, 22

Social sail across Utah Lake, for an annual gathering of sailors....

TO CELEBRATE SAILING, WORLD WIDE!

Place: Pelican Bay Marina (Saratoga to some)

Time: After work / Evening, Friday, June 21

What to expect?: Probably bugs. Lots of  commraderie.

What should I bring?: Mosquito netting for open ports. Fun food. Tents and sleeping bags if you want to sleep on shore. Dock lines. VHF. Guitars, harmonicas, etc., and lots and lots of sailing stories.

If you have 12v LED decoration lights...hoist them up when entering the Pelican Bay Marina to add to the festive atmosphere.

Utah Lake Regatta was a blast!

Huge thanks to Melanie for putting all those moving pieces into a great sailing event. We even had wind in the morning...as she said there would be.

and thanks to all of you sailors for putting it all out there.

Derrick Thurman, the first across the line, the fastest across the water,

took home top honors. Congratulations to Derrick and crew Kent Lemon.

Since we're talking about racing...

What's the history of the America's Cup?

Call me old fashion, but I still think the real, true, purest iteration

of the America's Cup is battled out, Mano-a-Mano, in 12-meter keelboats.

Check out some remarkable 12 meter competition...full screen.

And the venerable J-Class boats will always be the greatest of all racing boats.

Americas Cup, J-Class Regatta.
