Regatta coming to Utah Lake. CUV podcast Islands in Utah Lake

Utah Lake Festival Regatta, June 4, 2023

Almost too much information here.
I know this when my brain starts to hurt.

Ahhh, the good old days when a sloop rig was a main and one jib.
But what about the Whomper?

Excellent spinnaker trim video.

Downwind sail comparison.

What happens when you leave your spinnaker up in 30+ kts of wind.

O.K. guys, what are you supposed to do with your spinnaker when the wind gets over 30 kts?
(personnally, I'm thinking dousing at 20 kts is probably going to save you lots of grief).

Whoa Nellie

How to avoid a gybe broach.

Is your O.B. oil level creeping up the dip stick when you check it ?

Consider changing your outboard engine THERMOSTAT
as part of your regular scheduled maintenance.
(engine oil, water pump impeller, spark plugs, fuel filter).
Our Mercury 9 hp developed "stinky oil"...gas in the oil.
According to the pro's at Marine Products
a faulty thermostat can result in gas entering the crankcase.
Worked for us.
Go figure?

And remember to check for fishing line wrapped around your prop shaft.
If you don't remove it, this will destroy your prop shaft seal, allowing water to enter the lower unit. Not good.
