Sailing is Ramping Up on Utah Lake!

Bonneville's clinics are a great way to add to your sailing skills and this clinic lived up to its name!

At our recent clinic
"How to Make Your Sailboat Fly" the GPS registered a max speed of 17 knots. Tim Adams did a great job of taking us downwind on Wyewacket (our Olson 30) in very strong winds.  We learned how to recover from a broach and untangle an hourglass fouled spinnaker.  As we quickly ran out of lake we dropped the spinnaker and hoisted the #3 jib and beat to windward for a wild, wet ride home.  The knowledge imparted was amazing and I know we only touched the surface of Tim's expansive understanding of fine tuning and trimming secrets.  What an incredible ride!!
"This was my third class with Bonneville Sailing. They have a great program
with great instructors. They have really accelerated my learning curve."  Martin

SUMMER SAILSTICE
Mike Harmer is organizing a Summer Sailstice event for our Utah Lake sailors, June 23rd. Join us for this social cruise, leaving the Provo Marina Friday night, 6pm for a leisurely sail across the lake to Pelican Bay on the west side. We'll dock at the protected Pelican Bay marina for the night, break out the BBQ stuff (bring your own) and have dinner on your boat or at the covered pavilion, where we can swap sailor stories on the longest sailing day of the year.

Our new sailing curriculum has a level just for you. Get prepared for your next charter cruise by getting in some sea hours. The sailing has been great.
