Winter Sailing Seminar possibilities
|
KUER's Doug Fabrizio, interviews Ben Abbott about Utah Lake. Advertised as a week long, in depth look at the divisive arguments on the future of Utah Lake.
As stewards of our environment, how should we care for Utah Lake?
Wah happened to last Thursdays Cottage Meeting anyhow? As far as we can figure, it must have been a cyber hack from the Russians. We just couldn't get anything to work. We apologize profusely.
But until we get our house in order it's probably best to postpone Cottage Meetings for another time. Thanks to all who have supported this idea, born of Covid restrictions, and to those presenters who have shared their time and talents with our sailing community.
Having said all that... There is a good possibility that we can re-boot Winter Sailing Seminars back at the Provo Marina conference room. A physical place will be much better to gather in. If as a sailing community, we can clean the park as needed in return for the room, it should make everyone happy campers.
I would like to get a feeling for folks that would like to participate in a Park clean-up every once in a while. Probably a Saturday morning. Maybe we can have one of our local experts demonstrate fiberglass repair, outboard engine repair, making canvas covers, eye splicing halyards and basic spinnaker handling after each clean-up.
Let me know if you are interested in participating in a clean-up / boat topic demonstration. Text 801-636-5204 with your name and either YES or NO.
