New Horizons Maritime Center seeking youth groups / adult specialists.
|
As a sailor, have you ever wondered how to "pay it forward"?
New Horizons has a great selection of keel boats that need attention and use. 1 Catalina 27 - ready to sail, but needs cleaning up 1 E Scow - needs new main halyard, dagger board and cleaning 2 Olympic Star boats, sanding, painting, TLC 1 Thistle sailing dinghy, ready to sail 1 Laser, ready to sail 4 "Bella" wooden rowing dinghys, ready to splash.
If you know of a group of 12-18 year olds, that would benefit from meaningful "after school" maritime learning / experiential activities, give us a call to see if what we offer is a good fit for you / your group.
Hey you Old Salts, you've got too much practical knowledge to just hang out at anchor. Help today's youth benefit from your expertise. Maybe you're a sailor, maybe a sailmaker. Maybe fiberglass repair man, aluminum welder, parts fabrication, historian, cabinet maker, rope splicer, cook, navigator, radio repairman, paramedic, 12 volt electrician. Pay it forward so your knowledge is preserved in the lives of our young folks.
For a landlocked population, this is a great opportunity to experience a maritime skill. Give us a call with your area of expertise and we will have minds and bodies anxious to learn a new salty ability.
