Maybe try something that doesn't involve a huge sacrifice.
Something like a Social Sail across Utah Lake should do the trick.
Leave your home port after Friday work and sail to Pelican Bay Marina.

Be prepared with bug netting for your hatches, dock lines, charged batteries for lighting, LED light strips for decorating your boat, favorite CD's, Hibatchi's for dock-side grilling, and lots of glorified personal sailing stories to help celebrate world wide sailing.
(one tip: if a persistent buzzing bug makes it through your defenses and wants to harass you through the night, bring along a hand vac and surprise the little blood sucker when you turn on the lights. Hasta La Vista baby).
Don't forget to register for all the great prizes that can be had, just for sailing around on the longest day of the year. Contests too.
