How to do Mediterranean Mooring.
This is one of the "hands-on" skill requirements,
in order to get your SLC License.
Check this one off in our Advanced Course.
Find your spot on the quay with a "drive by", put out fenders, get your stern lines ready to hurl, ready on the bow for an anchor drop and set, establish your depth/scope, start to back into your selected spot, communicate with your crew on the bow when to deploy the anchor, watch your drift / crosswind / prop-walk and adjust, "set "your anchor at the correct scope / distance from quay as you continue to back in, try to disregard the feeling of everyone in the marina eagerly awaiting any display of boat carnage due to your lack of boat handling skills, continue backing until 8' from quay, stop backward motion while tossing up-wind stern line to "marinara" on the quay, toss downwind stern line to marinara, tension anchor ground tackle so bow does not swing down-wind, re-adjust lines as necessary, place boarding plank from stern to quay, shut off engine... collapse in heap.
