Who hasn't dreamed of sailing off into the sunset,
with nothing more than a tall ship and a star to steer her by?
Bonneville will once again be offering its on-line, as well as land based class,
on traditional celestial navigation.
4 consecutive Fridays, April 7, 14, 21, 28. 6 - 9 PM, MT.
Our instructor, Doug Hendricks, is an OUPV Captain, who has sailed the Pacific, Atlantic, Caribbean and Aegean Sea, using sextant only navigation.
This You Tube video is one of the most friendly CN tutorials I have come across.
But if your brain feels "fried" after watching videos on the subject,
Captain Doug can help each student in the class progress at their own pace,
using PowerPoint demos,
explaining step-by-step procedures from student manuals,
access to sextants, navigation tools, charts and almanacs.
These CN seminars will also be available on-line after the class has ended,
just in case you may have missed something. This is a great to learn the Ancient Mariners art.
"Excellent teacher, challenging and informative. Left me wanting to learn more." Marylou
"I have taught navigation for many years and have taken other celestial navigation courses. This is by far the best and most thorough course I have ever taken." Emery

You don't have to be in the Vendee Globe,
to see the Southern Cross.
What would Squanto have said if he saw this coming into Plymouth?
Mike, skipper of Unsinkable 2, gave us a heads up on this article.
We're getting inquiries about the dredging of the Provo Marina.
In a recent Utah Lake Commission Governing Board meeting, Jason Allen, Park Ranger said,
"I promise it will be done by spring".
The skipper of Talking Stick would have preferred dredging be done two years ago, when funding was finally allocated, after many of you voiced marine hazard concerns to your legislators.
Attend our Winter Sailing Seminar on "State of the Lake",
presented by Eric Ellis, Director of the Utah Lake Commission.
Get all the current news on Utah Lake. Date to be announced.
If you have "sailing stuff" you would like to sell, trade or give away,
We will likely have a seminar / swap meet for one of the Winter Sailing Seminars.
