Summer Sailstice Revisited

Can you ever have too much fun out sailing? Guilty as charged! The 2014 Summer Sailstice Social Sail to Pelican Bay was way fun. Coming from the Lindon Harbor and the Provo Harbor, sixteen boats converged on Pelican Bay Marina right about twilight, bringing people down from Saratoga Springs to photograph the mass arrival. The slips filled up fast, as boat after boat found a place to tie up for the night. BBQ's were fired up for dinner and lounge chairs set in place for a retelling of the nearly 2 hour crossing. The next morning saw early birds cast off and head for home on the longest day of the year...the Summer Solstice.

Thanks to all those who enjoy sailing...just for the pleasure of it. Relive, or enjoy a vicarious sailing experience from all the photos that were taken during the 2014 Sailstice. If you have not sent us your photos, forward them on, and well get them posted. We're already planing next years event, so make sure you put this on your calender.

Lost a halyard? A possible option to climbing the mast. Sorry...I'm not so sure this will work, but as the article states, it can't hurt anything other than your pride and a sore neck, if things don't work out. Let me know if you try this and it actually works.
