Still Looking for a Crane Telephone Pole.
NEW CALL FOR HELP!
If your mast has ever gotten away from you while stepping . . . and nobody got killed,
you know how lucky you, and your crew were.
And for those of you who have not dropped a mast while stepping or lowering,
you know you're playing the "inevitable probability" game.
As we age, the invincible attitudes of bygone days, cause us to pause and reconsider
how long (and expensive) it is to heal these days.
If we can't scrounge a mast pole, lets get together on this one,
AND JUST BUY THE DARN THING.
(A 40', 8" diameter steel pipe costs about $40.00 per foot)
Would you consider investing in a foot or two?
Jason has given his blessing and designated a mast crane area in the new parking lot.
Come on Utah Lake Sailors. Lets pool our resources and purchase a pole that will make our mast work safe and easy.
Best to get this thing done before spring, so we can dodge the 2014 Darwin Awards.
We have designers and engineers ready to volunteer to fabricate the beast.
We could use a "mast crane fundraising committee".
Who wants to help make this thing happen?
Give me a call now . . . or I'll keep making you feel guilty . . . just like those NPR pledge drives.
