Utah Lake State Park Conference Room
4400 W. Center St., Provo
7:00 PM
We are back in person and meeting at the Provo Marina conference room. We are so excited to be able to get together as sailors and count down the days until sailing season!
Come join us no matter your sailing experience, where you slip your boat, or which lake you sail on.
February 2: “Central Utah Water Conservancy District”
One of the members of the water conservancy district will teach us all about the water levels for Utah Lake. As we watch all of the snow and rain falling, how much will the lake receive? This will be a great time for us to learn how our shallow lake levels will benefit.
February 9: “Sailing the San Juan Islands”
Derrick Thurman took his MacGregor 26 and family to Washington state for a sail. Derrick will talk us through how to do a sailing trip like this. He has great pictures and videos to entertain us with and answer questions about this route.
February 16: “Sailing Lime Key & the Everglades”
Mike Harmer found a great spot in the Florida keys where a sailboat comes with your room reservation! He will tell us about this experience and how we can all benefit from sailing practice in the everglades. This is a cheaper way for sailors to get hours leading up to a charter.
February 23: “Basic Boat & Trailer Electrical Systems Refresher”
DeWitt Smith has some great information on marine electronic systems, and also how to maintain and trouble shoot your boat trailer. He is a wealth of knowledge on many boat fixes and will share his knowledge with us!
This is a free to the public, community service lecture series
offered by the Bonneville School of Sailing and Seamanship,
with the hopes of promoting sailing here in the desert and beyond.
Thank you to Melanie Evans for getting the Winter Sailing Seminars up and running again.
We appreciate the Park's generosity in letting us use the conference room.
